Power supply systems

One of Complete’s main activities is implementing highly reliable, uninterruptible power systems.

An uninterruptible power supply is essential for any data centre. Depending on client requirements, uninterruptible power supply systems can be used to ensure both internal (modular) redundancy and external (system) redundancy. Our approach to designing power supply systems is based on current best practices that make it possible to increase the power of a data centre gradually.

An integrated power supply system architecture includes a variety of subsystems. Basic systems are:

• integrated power supply system  - transformer substation, lead-in distributor, distribution points (DP), cable networks, switching and protection tools

• guaranteed power supply system -  backup diesel generator sets (DGS) with fuel supply

• uninterruptible power supply – uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with appropriate accumulators for system load

• centralized monitoring and control subsystem – remote control and status monitoring of all systems

• system of power distribution in data centre racks – should be allocated separately

A system can also be connected to a shared monitoring and management system. "Smart" socket strips can also be used to achieve this, such as the Switched Rack PDU produced by APC. They allow the tracking of the energy load of rack equipment exerted for each socket connection, the identification of problems in a timely manner, and even the switching off and on of equipment via an Ethernet network.
